The goal of Vitainment is to fulfill the desire of Sharon O. Baker to make the films available for a small monthly fee through certain streaming channels.

Vitainment is the official non-profit incorporation of the actual cause behind the vision of Sharon O. Baker that led to the creation of Feature Films for Families more than 30 years ago.

Vitainment is a contraction of Vitamins and Entertainment. It is entertainment that is vital and healthy for the prosocial neural pathways of the brain in much the same way that vitamins are healthy for the physical brain.

The films produced and licensed to Feature Films for Families were created and owned by the Sharon O. Baker Trust and were sold directly to homes via the telephone from 1989 thru today initially on VHS tapes and subsequently on DVDs and digitally.

Sharon’s vision led to the production of 32 films and long-term acquisitions with various film production companies.

Sharon’s vision led to the production of 32 films along with 108 other family movies including 32 titles produced exclusively for Feature Films for Families; 12 titles acquired in the acquisition of Leucadia Family Films; 49 of the PBS series Wonder Works titles; and 30 co-productions or long-term acquisitions with various film production companies such as Cinar, Pax TV, Porchlight Entertainment Panonia Film Studios, and Enoki Films.

Feature Films for Families licensed almost 300 titles from various production companies that were distributed to more than 6 million homes across the US, England, and Canada.

All were granted the rights by the producers/distributors to remove any profanity, vulgarity, nudity, and gratuitous violence as well as to present the hero as struggling to do what is right without overtly doing anything wrong.

It was the final direction of Sharon O. Baker that the movies created or licensed to Feature Films for Families be used to fund the activities of a non-profit created to carry on the work she started in Feature Films for Families and to create more positive neural pathway influencing uplifting films.

Our mission is to bring the power of positive media to a new generation.

In a world where things are violent and filled with terrible political strife; in a world where people no longer get along and simply hate those that disagree with them, it is time to get that dose of humanity back.

It is time to sit down, watch a movie, and become better people from it. It may seem small, and it may seem insignificant, but every one of us, at some point, will all one day reach a crossroads for our morals and values.

In those moments, it is the wonderful messages from movies that will help us make the right decision.
